                           Federal Incentives -  Rewiring America has a nice handout.
                                  In addition to limits on the amount of credit you can claim for any particular equipment installation or home improvement, there are annual
                                  aggregate limits.  The overall total limit for an efficiency tax credit in one year is $3,200.  This breaks down to a total limit of $1,200 for any
                                  combination of home envelope improvements (windows/doors/skylights, insulation, electrical) plus furnaces, boilers & central air conditioners.   
                                  Any combination of heat pumps, heat pump water heaters and biomass stoves/boilers are subject to an annual total limit of $2,000.

Home electrical wiring and electrical panel upgrades –
                              Federal Incentives - The energy-efficient home improvement tax credit will help offset the costs of updating your electric panel + wiring.                                                                                   That credit is worth 30% of the cost, including installation. The full amount you can get for home improvements is                                                                                     capped at $1,200 each year.  Rewiring America has a nice handout.

Smart thermostats and whole house fan rebates –  local SMPA rebates  and for gas customers, SMART thermostat rebates from Black Hills.

The CARE program is an SMPA program administered by EcoAP for low and middle income residents and provides no or low cost home energy assessment and upgrades.

Black Hills offers gas customers free one-hour virtual home energy audits plus a free home energy kit. Easy on-line scheduling. 

The IRA bill will allow a 30% credit, up to $150, for home energy audits through the State of Colorado.  We hope to know the details this fall.
